About Us

eMerge® is a product of Soft Corner (www.soft-corner.com)

Soft Corner is a software product firm. While most of our revenue comes from our products, we do have very few services customers (only old ones) from US, Sweden – and of course, India. We started out as an out and out services firm but always wanted to be a product firm. It took us a long time to get there, but we finally did!

We are group of passionate software professionals and chartered accountants. Currently, eMerge is our most popular product – which is used by our customers for financial consolidation and MIS reports like Budget vs Actual. We have some illustrious customers like Bank of India, Godrej, Motilal Oswal, Marico, Lupin, Pepsico, SREI, Tata International, National Stock Exchange and even software companies like Birlasoft, KPIT, Hinduja Global Services etc. – whose quarterly and monthly results are processed through eMerge.

We also work on some projects that we take up irrespective of whether they would sell or not. These are just to satisfy our itch to do work in cutting edge technology or work on large or high tech systems – simply because we love to work in those. We started working on one such project for an NGO called Shelter Associates (www.shelter-associates.org). This entailed conducting surveys (on Android phones) in slums and mapping urban slums on Google map in details.

After having successfully displayed this and having done a lot of work, Shelter Associates also decided to make us their technology partner and our CEO, Arun Kadekodi was made a trustee of the NGO. This also started our journey into multiple NGO projects that we took up – all using modern software products and tools. This also keeps our team motivated.

Soft Corner has been also involved in an initiative to provide open-source software platforms to NGOs across India along with some philanthropists and other like-minded tech companies. You can read about this at www.projecttech4dev.org and also all the work that is going there.

Our Team

Arun Kadekodi

CEO

He has been in software development since 1981 and is one of the old timers in software, in Pune. He has been responsible for development and delivery of several business applications for several large corporate customers of Soft Corner, in the past.
He loves teaching and has taught in several prestigious institutions like the CS Dept of Pune University, Pune Institute of Computer Technology (PICT) etc. He is also passionate about cycling and hiking and goes trekking in the Himalayas, every year.

He has an M.Tech (Comp.Sc.) degree from Pune University, before which he graduated in Statistics and Applied Computer Science.

Ravindra Damle

CTO

Ravi began his career in 1985 and worked for some notable companies before starting off as an independent software vendor by the name of Prime Software in 1991. After having worked on some projects together with Arun during this time, he founded Soft Corner with him in 1996.
Ravi has been the architect of a couple of products in Soft Corner that have done very well in the international market – one of which is a web and email-based survey analysis tool – VitalStatistix.
He is an avid sports enthusiast and passionate about trekking in the Himalayas.
He has a graduation in Physics and Applied Computer Science before doing M.Sc. (Comp. Sc.) from Pune University.

Meenal Kadekodi

Architect

Meenal Kadekodi is a solutions architect. She, along with Abhishek, have been the key designers of eMerge.
She is responsible for most of the implementations that have been done till now – as a result of which she has gained enough financial knowledge to be able to advise on the best practices in Consolidation. Due to continuous interaction with customers, she is a key person in planning the roadmap for eMerge.

She is a graduate in Physics and Applied Computer Science from Pune University and has been responsible for delivering several key solutions in the industry since 1984.

Anant Govande

Business Development

Anant Govande is the Founder & Director of Offshore Accounting and Taxation Services Pvt. Ltd. For Soft Corner, he is the domain expert and has contributed to the product in building key features of our product, eMerge. He also looks after business development and has been responsible for some key acquisitions.
He is a Chartered accountant (a rank holder in Inter and Final exams), a cost accountant and a company secretary.

Prakash Bhavsar

Business Development

Prakash Bhavsar is in Enterprise solution selling for last several years and has sold some key products across India. He is associated with Soft Corner for several years and is responsible for business development and requirement gathering for our product, eMerge.
Prior to getting into software sales, Prakash has worked in manufacturing sector, handling finance and commercial functions.

Prakash is a qualified Cost Accountant and based out of Pune.

Abhishek Agrawal

Product Manager, eMerge

Abhishek Agrawal is the key technical person behind our product, eMerge and has been with Soft Corner since 2007. He manages the product, its releases, its documentation, its delivery … and also the entire development team of eMerge.
He has been with eMerge since its inception and has been responsible for its growth and its position in the industry today. He is the technical brain behind eMerge and has the last word when it comes to it.

He has a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Pune University.

S. Ravichandran

Senior Functional Consultant

He is a finance professional with over 30 years of experience in various facets of finance function - primarily, budgeting, reporting, finance process improvement and of course is go-to person for the implementation team of eMerge.
With the number of implementations that he has guided, his experience is of immense importance for new implementations.

Raghvendra Wagholikar

Project Manager

Raghvendra has been in the IT industry (and with Soft Corner) since 2007.
He has worked on most of our key projects for various customers of Soft Corner, both in India and abroad. He has worked across tech domains including .Net, Java, Python etc. and is our main “Go To” person for technology related queries or solutions. He has also been responsible for various software products developed by Soft Corner for our customer software companies.

He has played a key role in the development of our Travel requisition and Claims management software, eKspens and has significantly contributed in the new product for Deferred Tax, namely, DTAX.

He is also leading the development of the multi-tier version of eMerge.

He has a dual Master degree in Business Administration (Systems and Finance) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Pune University.

CA Monika Bhansali

Head, eMerge Implementation

Monika is a chartered accountant with almost 7 years of experience in eMerge implementation

She has handled a spread of Indian and overseas customers from different verticals like automobile, pharma, FMCG, NBFS and handled varied reporting requirements peculiar to those sectors.

She is an expert in Ind-AS and IFRS reporting and leads the implementation team of eMerge.
